DESCRIPTION:
2003 Catalina 350
A brilliant solution to the yachting public’s desire to have a fun pocket/coastal cruiser with a centerline queen berth in a yacht of this size, Catalina’s 350 boasts 13’ of beam and 6’-9” headroom in a spacious salon for a fun and capable yacht that easy to sail and super comfortable for 4-6 crew and guests. With132 built from 2002 to 2009, Catalina Yachts clearly produced a winner. This yacht is SO easy and fun to sail. Both the genoa and in-mast mainsail are furled with the starboard cabin top electric halyard winch so you’ve got some mechanical help when the wind builds and you need to shorten sail. This is true push button yachting - amazing for a boat this size. Originally from NJ, this boat has spent time right here on the middle Chesapeake Bay, land stored for winters (has winter cover too) here in Baltimore at the end of each season.

INDUSTRY REVIEWS:
From Practical Sailor, 12/10/2003
"Though Catalina always has favored the creation of large living spaces, the asymmetrical shape of the main cabin on the 350 carries the concept to a new extreme. Her 13′ beam is 13′′ wider than the 36 MKII. “It has a big-boat galley, big-boat head, and large forward cabin to pamper owners. It is not a conventional design,” Douglas says. “However, we did this without making any significant compromises in living spaces or performance. It has more headroom (6’9′′) than you would expect in a conventional 35-footer, but we accomplished that by lowering the cabin sole, because we didn’t want to elevate the cabinsides.”
“The hull shape is slippery,” says Douglas, “with a fine entry, sharp knuckle on the bow, long run aft, and shallow rocker fore and aft.”
From Sailing Magazine, 3/7/2003
"Best of all, and most surprisingly in a hull with this kind of beam, the helm still felt well balanced even when we sailed through a couple of puffs that put the boat over on its ear. Much more wind and we would have had to start thinking about reducing sail. But it was good to be in a boat that was clearly designed for cruising and comfort and yet could still be driven to windward. All this was made more impressive by the fact that our test boat came with the shoal-draft winged keel."
"In the end, when it comes to the 350, you get a lot more performance than you might otherwise expect in a boat so focused on voluminous interior space and comfort. If you want something with plenty of room and good sailing ability, then the 350 may be the boat for you."
