INTRODUCTION:
This is a golden opportunity to grab a nearly-new yacht for around $100K below the purchase price paid just a short 24 months ago. We sold this yacht new here at our Annapolis dealership in June of 2023. She spent a few months here in Annapolis and then journeyed down to Brunswick, GA where she lies now. This has been her only use and her only voyage since purchased.
A new 2025 Excess 13, the latest version of this Excess 12, equipped the same, would run nearly $1,000,000.
Our owners have had an unexpected change in plans and no longer have time to enjoy SEA SEÑORA as they had hoped. With just 201 hours on her main engines, 10 hours on her genset, and just this one trip under her belt, this feature-laden practically new yacht is ready for her next adventure.
We have over 100 photos here on this link. Ask us for access to over 600 higher resolution pics we have just taken of the boat, every nook and cranny, and every detail. Check them out to see what an opportunity this is to acquire this cruise-ready passage-making yacht.

EXCESS 12 HISTORY, OWNER & PRESS NOTES
Excess Yachts, founded in 2019, is a subsidiary of and supported by Groupe Beneteau, world renowned yacht designers and builders of quality yachts for the past 141 years since 1884. Groupe Beneteau has been building their Lagoon line of yachts, builders of high-quality cruising cats for the last 41 years, since 1984.
Excess Yachts is the fastest growing catamaran builder in the world, having already built over 460 yachts (as of spring 2025) over just six short years. Why?
From the design team at Excess:
“Excess has found the ideal balance between comfort and sailing sensations by re-thinking the entire boating experience. The excellent view of the sails, the fine tuning offered by having twin helm stations aft, the rig, the hulls, the sharing of space, life on board, the materials: everything has been carefully studied to adapt to the new ways of thinking about life on the water. An Excess catamaran is a modern, aesthetic, efficient boat, in step with your vision, your rhythms.”
Catamaran cruisers have long sought more performance from a cruising cat: faster, better acceleration, better upwind sailing angles, less drift, smoother ride. Cruisers have asked for a better social space in the cockpit, connecting the helmsman with the rest of the outside spaces on the same level. They have wanted better visual access to the rig for sail trimming from the helm. They have wanted easier access to running rigging from a common shared deck area. They have asked for better through-salon visibility for navigating and maneuvering around the dock and local waterways. Excess Yachts delivers on all these improvements with their modern, bright, and quick 2023 Excess 12. Welcome to SEA SEÑORA, hull #40 of (50) Excess 12’s built to date.
Solid build quality highly regarded for comfort and handling rough ocean conditions
Hull shapes/profile and rig design offer excellent speed and agility for performance-minded sailors
Twin cockpit-level helms great for trimming & managing sails, single-handed sailing, docking participation
360 degree visibility underway via see-through clear glass salon windows and minimal structural impediments from either helm station
Retractable cockpit roof bimini provides the best protection from the elements as well as open air enjoyment on sunny days
Spacious interior salon, galley, and stateroom spaces
Abundant storage spaces throughout the yacht
SPECIAL EXCESS INVALUABLE FEATURE – TWIN DECK-LEVEL HELM STATIONS
Twin outboard-located deck-level helms achieve several advantages over other yachts in the class. Why is this so awesome? No segregated flybridge for the captain like most yachts in-class! Keeping the skipper on the same level as the rest of the crew is far superior to the ‘throne’ setup of most other catamarans that either strands the captain on an upper level by him/herself or uses a super tall bar stool or platform so you can poke your head up through the roof to drive the boat. Now captain and crew are all together all the time on the same level. Further, and also super important, the captain is able to participate in docking, line in hand, from either side of the boat!
Excellent 360-degree visibility for navigating from either helm
Great view of the rig and sails for trim
Running rigging, powered winches, and line stoppers are at the helmsman’s fingertips at deck-level
Full duplicate engine controls at both helms w/instantaneous electronic helm transfer available to make docking and tight maneuvering easy
Twin helm locations allow the helmsman to actively participate in docking or departing maneuvers from either station – you’re RIGHT THERE at the stern of the boat, at either helm, with a dockline in hand, ready to lasso a piling or cleat...
Both helm positions are directly over top of the rudders for excellent ‘feel’ of steering input while sailing
Double upholstered seats at both helms provide seating for two at deck-level and fold up for storage at anchor or the marina when the sugar scoop swim platforms are in use
Excess-designed bimini structure w/full canvas allows both helm stations to be included in the cockpit canvas/stratoglass enclosure for protection from the elements
GRP consoles for electronics at port and starboard helms

EXCESS ‘PULSE LINE’ PERFORMANCE UPGRADE ($49,650)

ENGINE UPGRADE PACKAGE ($24,750 option)
Very few catamaran buyers are willing to splurge for the upgraded engine package. Why is this so important? Running on flat water with no current, the base 29HP Yanmars are totally sufficient. That’s not when you need HP though... It’s when you have current, wind on the nose, or ocean chop that you need that extra HP to punch through challenging seas. This optional engine package adds 55% more HP! Another amazing benefit here is that, for normal cruising, you’ll run these larger engines at a lower rpm to achieve the speed through the water you seek. So that means these bigger engines will not work as hard as the 29HP basic engines and you’ll burn less fuel.
Upgraded to 45hp Yanmar sail drive engines (201 hours) from standard 29hp
Electric engine throttles at both helm stations

EXTERIOR HULL DESIGN DETAILS
Vacuum-infusion hull construction increases hull strength and rigidity. Hulls and decks are balsa cored above the waterline. Additional pair of hull chines, unique to Excess, improve upwind performance and increase interior volume. More than a ton of weight has been removed from the boat compared to the competition, promoting better acceleration, sportier & tighter points of sail, and top speeds.

ENGINE ROOMS
Engine and system access is often an issue on yachts, especially cats. Too often on cats, the engines are inside the boat and under the aft owner’s and guest’s berths. Not so on SEA SEÑOR! Engine rooms are not only huge and easily accessible via twin exterior opening hatches back behind the helms at the swim platforms, they are outside the aft bulkheads of both aft staterooms. This allows for quieter running for those resting below. The spaces are so big, a service technician can actually step down into the spaces to access all systems with ease. No more contorting into a pretzel to change the oil or raw water impeller. No more huge bills from the engine guy for the extra time it takes on other yachts to get to critical systems.

FUEL BURN DATA (per engine)
As shown below, here is the fuel burn at various rpm’s for this Yanmar 45HP engine. You can see clearly that SEA SEÑORA will cruise at a nice speed while only consuming 2.0-2.6 gallons per hour total for both engines! (2200-2400rpm). With 55% more HP with the upgraded 45HP Yanmars, you run a lower rpm and save a lot of fuel on a passage.
1000 rpm 0.17 gal/hour 0.63 L/hour
1200 rpm 0.26 gal/hour 1.00 L/hour
